We are assembled here to bid farewell to our one of the most distinguished Chief Justice L. Narasimha Reddy, who assumed office of the Chief Justice of Patna High Court on 02.01.2015.

Born on 01.08.1953 in an agriculturist family, at Gavicheria Village, Warangal District, Telangana State. Had his primary education in the Primary School in the same village and High School education in Zila Parishad High School, Sanghem, and studied Intermediate at Narsampet. Completed B.Sc., Degree Course in the C.K.M. College, Warangal. Obtained Bachelor's as well as Master's Degree (International Law) in Law from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Was enrolled with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in February, 1979 and joined the office of Shri P. Babul Reddy, remained there till December 1983, when Sri Babul Reddy gave up the practice. Started practicing independently since January, 1984. Functioned as part-time Lecturer in Post-Graduate College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad, for about one and half years.

Was appointed as Standing Counsel for Osmania University in 1985. Has been elected as the Secretary of the A.P. High Court Advocates' Association in the year 1988-89 and 1989-90.

Sworn in as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 10.09.2001. Sworn in as Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh w.e.f 31.07.2002. Appointed as the Executive Chairman of A.P. State Legal Service Authority in June, 2014.

As a Chief Justice, he demonstrated a personal standard of ethical conduct that stands out among both the general citizenry as also the Advocates. Though out as a Chief Justice he exhibited passions, open mindedness, tact, courage, firmness, understanding, compassion, humanity and common sense, which are the basic concept of judicial temperament. Hon'ble L. Narasimha Reddy, display both courage and integrity and in same transaction uninfluenced by the identity, race, gender, political status. The character of Hon'ble Chief Justice encompasses both the ability to apply the law and to understand how a judicial decision will affect the human beings appearing before the court. His ability to communicate with counsel and the parties calmly and courteously and his willingness to listen and to consider what is said on all sides of a debatable preposition are undoubtedly admirable.

The goal of the courts is to provide fairness, respect and dignity to the people who came before it. A judge is a pillar of entire judicial system and the public expect highest and irreproachable conduct on any one performing judicial function. Law being extremely subjective, a judge has to take all the social realities into account and decide with compassion. Hon'ble L. Narasimha Reddy as Chief Justice followed the line through out.

Dispensation of justice is an attribute of the creator. For institutional and sustainable democracy, the rule of law and good governance, there is no alternative to a qualified and qualitative judge. Not only out association, but each and every members of Patna High Court sincerely admire the said qualities of Hon'ble Chief Justice L. Narasimha Reddy. The initiative made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice on a P.I.L regarding alarming situation of the Holy River Ganga and by tremendous efforts of Hon'ble Chief Justice, the construction of drainage channel was started and now completed. That apart, the Hon'ble Chief Justice also considered the vital issue of young advocates regarding registration of Advocates as Advocates on record of Patna High Court Rules and adjudicating the said issue by considering the larger aspect underlying the mandate of Article 19 (1) (g) of the Constitution of India and Section 13 of the Advocates Act. The Hon'ble Chief Justice L. Narasimha Reddy adjudicated the various important issues touching the limb of his society. The Hon'ble Chief Justice also made endeavor and efforts for establishing the courts in 22 Sub-Divisions of the State in order to provide justice to the oppressed class of the society. The Patna High Court completed 100 years and witnessed the Centenary Celebrations under the supervision and guidance of Hon'ble Chief Justice L. Narasimha Reddy.

The Advocates' Association is very much thankful of Hon'ble Chief Justice for his distinguished manner of dispensation of justice. The Advocate's Association as a mark of respect to our distinguished Chief Justice accorded farewell, who is going to superannuate on 1st August, 2015
